Our Favorite Disney Shirts Right Now!

If you’ve been to the Disney parks lately, you’ve noticed that Disney style is a big thing right now.  Minnie Ears, Spirit Jerseys, and clever Disney-themed tees are super popular!  Basically, if you go to Disney and don’t sport an awesome Disney outfit – did you really have a Disney vacation?

Don’t worry, though!  We’ve got you covered.  Here are some of our favorite Disney tees out there right now!

DISNEY FOOD TEES

Half of your Disney vaca is filled with food adventures and Mickey-shaped snacks, so why not profess it to the “World”?

ATTRACTIONS TEES

There are some great shirts out there paying tribute to our favorite attractions!  We love these two below – especially the “Salute” shirt.  If you know which attraction this shirt represents – we need to be friends.

HALLOWEEN TEES

Halloween time at Disney is truly magical!  The Mickey pumpkins, the Halloween parties, the fall treats!  These shirts are great for a park visit or they are great to wear to the Halloween Party if you don’t want to sweat under a full costume!

OBSCURE DISNEY MOVIE TEES

We love seeing less-recognized Disney movies being represented by awesome tees.  The Emperor’s New Groove is such an underrated Disney movie, so we love seeing it get some tee action.  Same goes for this Powerline Concert tee from A Goofy Movie!

CHRISTMAS TEES

I have a serious problem.  I would wear Disney Christmas tees all year-round if it was socially acceptable.  But, seriously.  How perfect are these?  Again, they are great for a normal park day during the Christmas season or they are great if you’ll be attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!  They are also a good option because it usually does not get too cold in Orlando during the Christmas season, so you can feel festive without being a sweaty mess!

We hope you love these tees as much as we do!  Do you have a go-to Disney tee when you’re visiting Walt Disney World?

Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights Highlights | Osborne Family

Osborne Family Lights

Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights are back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and if you haven’t heard, it’s the 20th and final year (you can read about that announcement here).  We recently spent the evening soaking in all the lights, music, and fake snow on the Streets of America and we captured some of it to share with you!  What an amazing display by the Osborne Family and we are so sad to see them go!

Check out our highlights video here:

Osborne Family Lights Tips

We also wanted to give you some tips if you plan to head to see the lights dance one more time this year:

  1. Get there early:  We recommend getting there about 30 minutes before the sun sets.  You’ll be able to get a good spot for the initial lighting and it’s also a neat experience to see the Streets of America change from dark to very light!  Another perk of being there early is that you will be in before most of the crowd starts flowing in and you’ll feel less like herded cattle.
  2. Take your time:  There are a lot of little details, especially this year, and you don’t want to miss them.  Don’t feel pressured by the natural flow of the crowd to move through the area quickly.  Step off to the side and really enjoy the lights and the atmosphere.  After all, this will be your last chance!
  3. Bathroom break:  Don’t worry, if you need to use the restroom while in the area there’s actually a large restroom area back near the Lights, Motors, Action! attraction.  So don’t leave the area just to use the potty.
  4. Wait for Photopass:  This is one instance where we’ll suggest waiting in line for PhotoPass rather than trying to snap a selfie or have another guest take your picture.  Definitely take some of those as well, but we suggest getting one or two PhotoPass pictures because these cast members are able to really capture the beauty of the lights and you won’t have as many people crowded on top of you while you’re trying to take the picture.
  5. Merry and Bright Dessert Party:  Look into booking the dessert party if you’d like a VIP experience.  If you choose to book this, you’ll enter a blocked off area that looks down the main strip.  There are tables and chairs for you to sit and take in the sights and sounds.  For more information or to book, check out the official Disney website.

We will probably be heading back to see the Osborne Family Lights a few more times before they are shut down for good!  We hope you’ll be able to experience them at least one more time as well!

Final Year for Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Disney announced today on their blog that this holiday season will be the final year for the Osborne Family Lights.  The amazing display has been taking place for the past 20 years at Hollywood Studios (MGM when it first started) and has in recent years covered the Streets of America.

It has become a tradition for many to visit during the holiday season and the reaction from Disney fans has been mostly of sadness and confusion as to why Disney couldn’t just move the lights to another area of the park.  Besides the incredible amount of lights on display, the lights would also sparkle, dance, and change in synchronization to a variety of Christmas music.

With the announcement of the new Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land expansions for DHS at the D23 Expo, the thought of losing the Streets of America entered the minds of many.  Unfortunately, Disney has now confirmed those thoughts.  Here is the excerpt from Disney’s blog:

As you plan ahead, we also wanted you to know that this holiday season will mark the finale for The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. The display of lights has enjoyed a successful run at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, going all the way back to when it first appeared on Residential Street.

In order to prepare for some incredible experiences coming to the park, including the recently announced Toy Story Land and a Star Wars-themed land, we will not be able to present The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights in the future. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the family of Jennings Osborne for letting us share their family tradition year after year. And thank you to all of you for being part of the spectacle with us. Here’s to making more memories in this, the 20th and final year.
